As I continue on this journey of life, I am exposed more and more each day the reality of life. Early in the morning at about 3:10 am our home alarm system went off. In absolute fright, I simply thought it was a false alarm. How wrong I was! I heard footsteps scattering beneath me in alarm... a minute later I heard a motorcycle bolt off. My brother and dad, not hearing any of the commotion I've heard, went down to inspect what may have set of the alarm. My dad had found a door open, and later found that his wallet was stolen. My dad soon called the police and we filed report. They took photos and fingerprints. The thought of knowing someone unknown has entered your home is violating. A sting of paranoia begins flowing through your blood, and start to feel uncomfortable at home, especially during the night.
As I lay in bed I hope it will be a normal everyday night. The thought of knowing that my family is safe and secure is the most reassuring that there is.
